the fbi says demand for new firearms was so high on black friday it had a little trouble getting up with all the background checks required. anna koiman is live from randolph, new jersey with more on that story. [gunfire] >> reporter: good morning to everybody and hope, fflt bi says on black friday, about 155,000 calls for background checks. that broke last year's record of about 129,000 calls. in fact the fbi is saying they even experienced brief blackout periods and had to quit taking calls which hurt the bottom line of some gun shop owners including the ones here in randolph, new jersey.
